LightSNiP kits are ready-to-use PCR kits for the typing of human single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), targeting rs numbers from NCBI. The assays use SimpleProbes®, a powerful probe-based method that enables SNP discrimination through melting curve analysis.
SimpleProbes® are single-labeled hybridization probes that increase fluorescence when they bind to their complementary target sequence. During melting curve analysis, sequence variations such as SNPs create distinct melting temperatures (Tms). This allows different SNP variants to be identified by their characteristic melting behavior.
LightSNiP kits are optimized for the Roche LightCycler® 480 instrument.
